Born in Brooklyn New York, Trix Rosen is an NY/NJ based photographer. Her career has also embraced the fields of fine art photography, photojournalism,  portraiture and historic architectural preservation

The scope of her fine art is driven by a desire to make a difference through addressing social justice issues that can transform local and global perspectives. Her portfolios include investigations of gender fluidity, the right of gender self-determination and other social justice and identity-related issues.

Rosen’s work can be found in many collections, including the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian Museum. In the last six years her photographs have been represented in over 50 exhibitions in galleries and in museums including the Ceres Gallery and Hebrew Union College Museum in New York City; the Sherwin Miller Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the Reece Museum in Johnson City, Tennessee; New Jersey’s George Segal Gallery in Montclair and Pierro Gallery in South Orange; and the Kepco Gallery Museum in Seoul, South Korea.

In 2015 she was invited to submit eight photographs from her HE/SHE Portfolio (http://www.trixrosen.com/heshe.html) for the 5th THESSALONIKI BIENNALE OF CONTEMPORARY ART, Main Program, “IDENT-ALTER-ITY, BUT STILL IN ONE PIECEexhibition in Thessaloniki, Greece.

She has produced photo-essays about civil wars, refugees and indigenous cultures that have appeared in national and international magazines. Her documentary wedding assignments have been profiled in Photo District News and Shutterbug.

She is the President of Trix Rosen Photography Ltd. Her company specializes in photographing architectural restoration and historic preservation projects for the Library of Congress, State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPO), city, state and government.

Rosen developed the INSIGHT OUT! Digital Storytelling Workshops (insightout-digital-storytelling-workshops) to teach visual storytelling and empower her participants with the communications skills to document their lives and connect with their community. She taught this program in New York City, Jersey City, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. The project is based on her experience as senior trainer, editor and international advisor to the award-winning InSIGHT OUT! Storytelling Project (http://www.insightoutproject.org)  based in Bangkok, Thailand.

Trix Rosen was the subject of a half-hour documentary about her life and photography, “Urban Stories,” Documentary Japan, Inc. (1997)
